Douglas Davis, better known by his stage name Doug E. Fresh (born September 17, 1966)

Doug E. Fresh's is generally considered the inventor of the clicks and clickrolls, which have also become his trademark sounds.

Even though Doug E Fresh continually claims to be and even names himself "The Original Human Beatbox", he is not the inventor of the art form of beatboxing in general. According to his own satement in an interview he started beatboxing in 1982. But Buffy, Tyte, Yoyobeats and possibly Michael Winslow were already beatboxing in the 1970s.

It is possible that Doug E Fresh, who grew up in Harlem, developed his skills independently from Buffy, who was located in Brooklyn, but it is rather doubtful as they both boroughs are part of in New York City.

As far as influence is concerned The Fat Boys's popularity gained worldwide recognition with several singles, commercials, and even feature films etc. while Doug E Fresh was rather limited to the US market.
