International Throwdown 2021

The International Throwdown 2021 was an online international beatboxing competition organized by Beatbox International. The event took place on their Discord server and was livestreamed to their YouTube channel on July 10, 2021.

Overview

The event introduced the A.C.E. judging system developed by Madox, where arrangement, complexity, and execution were each evaluated by one judge (Madox, Trung Bao, and Colaps, respectively). A maximum of three points could be given for each category, for a maximum total of nine points. In the case that points were tied between two participants, an Overtime round would occur with the regular "single vote" judging system.

From June 15 to June 30, 2021, viewers were able to vote in the Beatbox International Discord server for their favorite Top 32 wildcard, and the person with the most votes would receive the People's Choice Award and its related prizes. The award ultimately went to Ice with 414 votes, beating FootboxG with 300 and Remix with 257.

Timeline

The event was announced on Beatbox International's social media on May 5, 2021. A wildcard competition opened on May 19 and closed on June 7. The Top 32 submissions were selected by the Beatbox International team and announced on June 14; this list was then narrowed down to a Top 16 by the three judges, which was announced on June 26.
