Doug E. Fresh
Douglas Davis, better known by his stage name Doug E. Fresh (born September 17, 1966)
Doug E. Fresh's is generally considered the inventor of the clicks and clickrolls, which have also become his trademark sounds.
Even though Doug E Fresh has continually claimed to be and even named himself "The Original Human Beatbox", he is not the inventor of the art form of beatboxing in general. According to his own satement in an interview he started beatboxing in 1982, whereas Buffy, Tyte, Yoyobeats and possibly Michael Winslow were already beatboxing in the 1970s.
Even though it is possible that Doug E Fresh, who was located in Harlem, developed his skills independently from Buffy, who grew up in East Brooklyn, it is rather doubtful as both boroughs are part of New York City.
The Fat Boys's popularity was very high in particular in Europe but also worldwide with the release of several singles, commercials, and even feature films etc. while Doug E Fresh was rather limited to the US market.
