Errol G. Holloman (May, 1965 – October 8, 2016) also known as The Human Beat Rocker was a beatboxer from Cleveland, Ohio. He was the first beatbox champion of the world.


Early Life

Till 1979 he went to Alexander Hamilton Junior High School on 3465 E 130th St.

Musical Career

In November 1985 at the New Music Seminar hosted by Tommy Boy Records in NYC, he won the Human Beatbox Championship of the World.

In 1985 he appeared on a "Comedy Tonight" hosted by Bill Boggs, in which he performed with the two other beatboxers Beat Master G and Wise.

His manager was Kermit Henderson.

Later Life

In 1991 he survived a suicide attempt, where he shot myself in the head. According to the surgeons he only had a 20% chance to live. The bullet remained in his brain.

Later he moved to Wetumpka, Alabama.


Beatboxing

Holloman was the inventor of the Errol(-throat)-tap, a technique by which the sound of the vocal cords are manipulated by tapping the hand on the larynx or other parts of the throat. This technique was later picked up and recorded by Biz Markie in the track "One Two".
